Addi's 8th Birthday
Addilynn with 2 of her siblings prior to 2nd open heart surgery June 2017
Addilynn "Addi" Hines Born December 12th 2016. Prior to Addi's birth her parents were given the most devastating news that any expecting parent's could imagine. During 16 weeks of gestation Nicole found out that the baby she was carrying had a severe cardiac condition and the chances were very slim of her even making it to deliver the baby. Nicole went from Inspira to DuPont and then moved on to CHOP in which would follow her pregnancy for the remainder of time. During her pregnancy she had never received any positive news it was always preparing for the worst. Nicole delivered Addi inside CHOP in their special delivery unit.. when sweet Addi was born she was rushed emergently to the cardiac ICU. She was born with a very rare disease called heterotoxy which means rearrangement of the organs in her case it mainly affected her heart. She was also born with Hydrops which is fluid buildup under the skin. Addi was born with just a half a heart. Along with dextocardia. At 3 days old she underwent her first open heart surgery to which would be the beginning of many.. she spent the first 8 months of her life living inside children's hospital before she got to come home and after her second open heart surgery. Addie has had a total of 4 open heart surgeries, 2 pacemaker surgeries, Ladds Procedure and GTube and many other different procedures done over the past 8 years. The beginning of 2025 Addie and her parents traveled to Boston Children's Hospital to have her 4th open heart surgery. Addi was born single ventricle and then in 2019 when she first went to Boston she had a Bi-Ventrepair to only find out 2 months later she was in full blown heart failure.... while her road has not been easy so many lessons have been learned along the way. She truly is an inspiration an amazing little girl with such a huge heart. The love and devotion she has towards helping other children just like her will light up a room. Because of her PrayersForAddi will strive to make an inpact!
